Description:

Our client has an immediate need for a Cyber Security Engineer, who will be responsible for applying the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that make computers work

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field
• 5 - 10 years overall experience within cyber security and/or technology operations
• 2+ years of experience developing with Python
• Experience with Splunk Phantom/Splunk SOAR architecture, implementation, and troubleshooting
• Experience authoring security runbooks, policy, and best practice documentation
• Experience with ETL concepts for REST, SOAP, ODBC, XML, CSV, and other formats and the ability to leverage existing scripts, drivers, and SDKs
• Ability to code performant Python, PowerShell, and Regular Expressions
• Experience with Microsoft Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Apps experience is a plus
• Experience with administering Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure is a plus
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools, such as Terraform or CloudFormation is a  plus
• Experience with CISSP/GISP or similar is a plus
• Security+ or Network+ certification is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Working in Splunk's Phantom SOAR platform to develop security automation playbooks
• Supporting the Global Security Fusion Center by engineering security tool integrations, automations, scripts, and playbook content for the SOAR platform that will assist the SOC\\IR teams through more effective detection and response activities
• Designing, implementing, standardizing, and maintaining efficient and reusable Python code or other programming language
• Authoring and maintaining documentation for all scripts, integrations, and workflows
• Writing, testing, and maintaining automation scripts/workflows within SOAR platform
• Reviewing, testing, debugging, and resolving technical issues throughout all stages of Software Development Life Cycle
• Translating conceptual SOC\\IR requirements into technical data and integration requirements for the SOAR platform
• Delivering API solutions that streamline, simplify, and improve efficiencies for the SOC\\IR teams as well as other enterprise LOBs
• Designing, testing, and implementing new playbooks for the Security Operations Center (SOC)
• Implementing technical modifications to integration, script, workflow based on feedback from product consumers
• Modifying existing databases and database management systems or directing programmers and analysts to make changes
• Writing and coding logical and physical database descriptions and specifying identifiers of database to management system or directing others in coding descriptions
• Working as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations
• Reviewing project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
